Exams
When you take an exam that you're not prepared for, you kind of chalk up your poor performance to cosmic justice. You may not even see it as a poor performance at all. Similarly when the exam format is just not suited to the way that you think. When you get an exam for which you are well-prepared and which is theoretically right up your alley and you tank it, that's a special kind of pain. Desperately needing good grades is a cause and effect of that process, but more on that later. Writing about this is too painful.
On the other hand, exams are over. Party.

Cheer up young lad. We are a breed of warriors and shall live to fight another day. Battered we may be, but fried most certainly not. I stand with you today and share in your sorrows, but tomorrow we shall rise together in joy, for victory is on the horizon!
